Course summary

This Master's degree combines advanced study of social media with practical training in a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods. The programme furnishes students with skills in social research that will enable them to pursue a future career in a wide range of social media and data analysis contexts. The York Sociology Department is the ideal place for those who wish to learn more about social media and research. The degree consists of 5 taught modules and a research dissertation. Each student is assigned to a member of staff who acts as their supervisor throughout the degree.
