Course summary
With the continued expansion of sports strength and conditioning provision around the UK, there’s a growing need for highly qualified graduates in this field – and for those already working to further extend their specialist strength and conditioning knowledge. On this Master’s you’ll learn and apply contemporary theoretical principles and scientific methodologies that enhance strength and conditioning practice. The programme is designed to build on the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) award and the UKSCA Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach (ASCC) award, to provide a necessary range of theoretical and practical experiences for a career as a strength and conditioning practitioner. Study style You can study full-time for a year or part-time over two years. Assessment methods include exams, essays, critical review, presentation, scientific report writing, athlete reports, e-portfolio, proposal, student-led projects and a dissertation.
Entry requirements
Typical Offers You should hold at least a 2.2 Bachelors degree with honours. Strength and conditioning experience Or substantial experience within the strength and conditioning field IELTS 6.5 (6.0 writing, 5.5 all other components) EU and international students need IELTS 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in any other component) or equivalent.
English language requirements
International students will need to produce evidence of an acceptable score on an approved English language test such as IELTS. We run pre-sessional English language courses to help you prepare for undergraduate or postgraduate study.
