Primary instrument/specialism
- Creative Practice: Collaborative Arts
Our BA Arts with Community is for people who want to explore performing and/or production arts in community contexts. We are looking for self-determined learners who are motivated by the positive impact that the arts can have. This course is for you if you want to investigate the performing and/or production arts creatively, collaboratively and ethically with a range of people and settings. It will be underpinned by practice, theory and research. Whether you are a performer, writer, musician, dancer, storyteller, production artist or filmmaker, this course will encourage you to develop your own artform, facilitation practice and voice as a socially engaged practitioner.
During the application and audition process, you must select which instrument(s) you wish to specialise in for the duration of your course. On this course, you can choose from the following options:
Only one specialism is studied. It may be possible to study a further instrument, but this will not contribute towards the qualification.
For all courses, you must select at least one specialism from the 'primary' list. For those studying primary/secondary pathways, two instruments may be selected – one from the 'primary' list and one from the 'secondary' list. Joint pathway students may select any two instruments from either list.
Please see the departmental web page for more information about the course.
