Course summary
Our online course covers the fundamental principles and practice of records management and information rights. It provides you with the basic core competencies, knowledge and skills required to work professionally in records management and/or information rights. Our focus is very much on a mix of the theoretical and the practical. You must be working or volunteering in an appropriate professional environment both prior to and throughout your studies so you can apply what you are learning. The course will give you an understanding of records management and information rights practice and tradition. You'll also learn about the management of current and semi-current records and how the strict requirements of legislation can be applied to working environments nationally, internationally, and within your own corporate environment. You'll gain a thorough understanding of the relationship between information rights legislation and different classes of information and how this should be managed. You’ll receive a lot of online content right from the start and benefit from our flexible teaching model that allows students to take semesters off and learn from subject experts.
