This programme is for Level 1 entry only. Applicants for Level 2 and Level 3 entry should apply for BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering If you enjoy being hands on with technology and creating solutions to complex problems, you should consider mechanical engineering. Learn to design and manufacture mechanical products and excel in this field. Engineers are involved in a number of design and development activities, and this course makes you a well-rounded Engineer able to exercise leadership, initiative, personal responsibility and decision-making in complex and unpredictable situations. This course offers the option to specialise in Systems or Design. The course combines our previous courses BEng/MEng Mechanical Systems Engineering and BEng/MEng Computer-Aided Mechanical Engineering to bring you the knowledge, skills and experiences needed to excel as a graduate in the mechanical engineering field. It is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). Graduate prospects Graduates of the previous courses have found success in a variety of local, national, and international industries and consultancies, such as mechanical, aerospace, electronics, offshore, local authority, manufacturing and building services. They are now employed by companies like Howden, Scottish Power and Scotrail.
