Course summary
Our MSc programme is designed specifically to help you develop an understanding of accounting and finance in global organisations. It will provide you with important training for careers in the accounting and financial sectors. You'll develop key professional and research skills, as well as an understanding of ethical business practice throughout your year-long course. The modules will cover the foundations of finance, the financial market and public sector finance and taxation. You'll then undertake a final research project, which can be either a dissertation or a business-based project. You'll be studying on campus at the internationally renowned Hull University Business School, with access to a full range of professional business information services including Reuters Datastream, Reuters Thomas One, Bloomberg, Bankscope, as FAME to enhance your date exploration.

Assessment method
For a full Masters degree, you'll study 180 credits over the duration of your course. Some programmes offer a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) qualification or a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) qualification. For a PGDip, you'll study 120 credits, and for a PGCert, you'll study 60 credits. You will develop key professional and research skills, as well as an understanding of ethical business practice. You will also undertake a final research project, which can be either a dissertation or a business-based project.

Entry requirements
The programme is designed for graduates from any discipline with a strong interest in the foundations of accounting and finance. However, we do recommend that you have a basic knowledge and understanding of this area of business studies. You will have a minimum of a 2:2 Honours degree or international equivalent. If you’re an undergraduate student at Hull, you’re guaranteed a fast-track route to this postgraduate degree, as long as you meet the entry requirements. In order to ensure our students have a rich learning and student experience, most of our programmes have a mix of domestic and international students.
