Course summary
This is for you if you’re keen to start your career in quantity surveying and commercial management in the construction industry. The course has a broad construction curriculum, so you’ll build skills you can apply across construction procurement and financial management. It will see you study management and business practice in a construction context, alongside law and economics.

Year 1: Building services and environmental science; Construction technology and materials; Construction technology and structures; Legal and economic context; Supporting studies; Surveying and setting out. Year 2: Building economics; Management of organisation; Measurement 1 and documentation; Measurement 2 and estimating; Project appraisal and cost control; Construction contract law. Year 3: Contract practice and administration; Corporate management and finance; Research project; Project management; Quantity surveying project; Sustainable construction and the environment.
