Explore theory and practical work through team tasks and individual portfolio building using industry-standard equipment, Mac suites and specialist software tools. Develop versatility by collaborating with students from courses like Fashion Photography, Fashion Design, and Filmmaking. Gain insights and real-life experience working with renowned fashion brands—opportunities that go beyond textbooks. Through practical briefs, collaborations, and a digital focus, you’ll graduate with a creative portfolio showcasing your unique skills. Modules
Year one – You will study multiple marketing and branding theories, concepts, processes, and creative communication tools employed by the industry, including historical contexts, ethics, and sustainability in fashion. You will start developing your own voice, ideas, and creative practice through individual and group projects. Research skills, lateral thinking and creative imagination are central to all modules. Year two – You will further develop your skills with a specific focus on future concepts and innovative, creative marketing strategies. Exploration of applied theories to online applications, social media platforms and multi-platform branding will further enhance your approach to digital marketing. Creative concept development will be supported through the study of consumers’ ever-changing relationship with brands and forecasting of ideas and scenarios for the future of the industry. Live projects and collaborative projects will expand your external contacts and enhance your professionalism, confidence, experience, and employability. Year three – You will consolidate your in-depth knowledge of developing fashion marketing strategies and campaigns to produce a creative and professional portfolio. The self-directed final year takes an integrated approach through a body of research that is supported by critical writing. This culminates in the realisation of a graduate portfolio which reflects your individual philosophy and career aspirations as a fashion marketing professional. *This course includes a placement year (also known as a sandwich year, work placement, industrial placement, or year in industry), which provides a fantastic opportunity to enhance your employability and gain practical experience in your field of study. The placement year typically occurs after year two and before year three. Leeds Arts University encourages applications from talented and motivated students. The University uses a wide range of methods to assess applications, these can include: • personal statement • predicted grades • contextual information • reference • examples of your work • digital auditions or interview If you are successful in your application an offer will be made to you, if conditional we will ask for between 104 and 120 UCAS tariff points from any combination of A Levels/T Level/Extended Diploma/Foundation Diploma. The expected subjects will depend on the course you are applying for. All applicants must have GCSE English Language or Literature at Grade 4/Grade C or above, or English Functional Skills Level 2 at Pass. Applicants for this course do not need to submit examples of work. - English You’ll need to have passed GCSE English Language or English Literature at Grade 4/Grade C or above, or English Functional Skills Level 2 at Pass. For mature students, an Access to Higher Education qualification in art and design will also be acceptable to demonstrate English language ability. Currently studying a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design? If you are currently studying a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design, you will have already achieved level 3 qualifications which carry UCAS tariff points. When considering your application, we will, collate your achieved tariff points with those you are predicted. You will also need a GCSE grade 4/ Grade C or above in English Language or English Literature or equivalent, or Functional Skills level 2 at a pass.
