As you go through the degree you will gain experiences with different sectors for health care and opportunities to explore your own interests through national and internal placements. All of these experiences facilitate and prepare you for graduation and working within modern day podiatry and health care either within the NHS or the private sector. We have placements across the NHS University Health Boards within Wales, as well as opportunities to visit private practices that focus on sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions. External placements occur in all three levels of the programme. Some students have had the opportunity to to travel to Singapore and New Zealand, experiencing podiatry at other Health Boards. Achieving 1000 clinical hours across the duration of the course, and award of the degree enables you to demonstrate that you have met the Standards of Proficiency necessary to become eligible to apply to the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) for registration as a podiatrist.
