Course summary

Take a user-centred approach to designing innovative, sustainable and forward-thinking products for volume production, including furniture, healthcare products, toys and consumer electronics. Build your design skills through practical experience and industry insight. This course can help you prepare for a career in product design, user experience (UX), 3D modelling, visualisation and design management. Visualise and prototype: master digital and workshop tools for dynamic product creation. Human-centred design: craft user-focused products inspired by real-world research and trends. Design for manufacture: balance form and function for sustainable, market-ready solutions.

Modules

This course has a common first year. The common first year enables you to work alongside students doing similar courses to you, to widen your knowledge and exposure to other subject areas and professions. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with other students, so you can share your insights and experience which will help you to develop and learn. Work placements usually occur between your second and final year of study.
