Course summary
This undergraduate degree is a top-up year for the Chelsea FC Foundation Coaching and Development FdSc, leading to the award of Bachelor of Science. Please note: you will need to have successfully completed Chelsea FC Foundation Coaching and Development foundation degree in order to study this programme. This degree provides: • A unique collaborative relationship with Chelsea FC Foundation with a variety of work placement opportunities • The opportunity to develop coaching practice and use sport as a vehicle for social change in Chelsea FC Foundation settings • A variety of teaching venues, including St Mary's University, Chelsea FC training ground (Cobham) and Stamford Bridge This top-up year gives you the opportunity to develop and enhance your knowledge, understanding, and practical application of: • talent development • performance analysis • advanced coaching pedagogies • alternative education provision in football • business start-up and social enterprise. You will also complete both your placement and research project within Chelsea FC Foundation projects and programmes. Throughout your studies, you will develop and enhance your critical analysis and independent thinking skills, as well as develop relevant professional and vocational practices related to the football and wider sport industry. Assessment method A range of assessment methods and strategies will be utilised in the delivery of this degree.
