Course summary

As a Physiotherapist you can help people affected by illness, injury or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice. You’ll take a ‘whole person’ approach to health – fully involving patients in their own care through education, awareness and empowerment. On this hands-on course you’ll study the core areas of physiotherapy and apply them to clinical situations. These include clinical placements in a variety of NHS and private settings to help you prepare for your future career as a Physiotherapist. You’ll also build up valuable experience in supporting long-term condition management programmes and a musculoskeletal clinic at the university or in a local clinic. You’ll use state-of-the-art facilities – treatment rooms, rehabilitation space, a hospital ward, a skills laboratory, a biomechanics laboratory, physiology laboratories, a strength and conditioning suite, fitness suite and a simulated ‘home’ environment.
