Course summary

Overview Our MSc programme is aligned with the newest innovation, creative technologies and workflows in construction and Business Information Modelling (BIM), including industry 4.0 digitalisation frameworks. The programme aims to produce competitive graduates mastering technical and operational skillsets required for high-quality hands-on digital work production as design authors and team coordinators. In addition, this degree will provide you with excellent inter-disciplinary live hands-on technology/digital specific skillsets, with operational management taught exclusively by industry experts. Why Study MSc Building Information Modelling and Construction Technologies at Middlesex? This course focuses on achieving, through BIM, digital and industry 4.0 technologies and processes, skillsets for 4 pillars of construction innovation: disruption (radical change), growth (incremental change), maturity (quality levels), and consolidation (integrative change). Additional focus will be placed on devising/implementing solutions to practically address the UN 17 sustainable development goals, which are all aligned to the programme modules, providing you with a unique employability skillset. Our MSc in Building Information Modelling and Construction Technologies caters to early career practitioners who are endeavouring to enhance their construction related technical and operational capabilities on projects, through usage of an array of smart technologies, tools and software to negotiate, design and complete BIM projects/inquiries/activities which meet all stakeholders’, organisations’ and sustainable environmental needs. Through the wide industry network that Middlesex acquires, you will be exposed to real live projects, and opportunities for work in industry, expanding your professional and interpersonal skillsets to work in a collaborative work environment, and developing innovative critical thinking, legal awareness, ethical team and personal decision-making reflective skills. Entry requirements

A 2:2 honours degree or above in an appropriate construction discipline (e.g. architecture, architectural technology, civil, mechanical, electrical engineering, surveying etc.). Alternatively applicant must be a corporate member of a relevant professional body. Relevant industrial experience may also be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
