Course summary
This new 2-year Adult Nursing Masters course is delivered on campus in West London and is designed for both home and international applicants who already have an undergraduate degree and healthcare experience. Successful completion of the course means you will be eligible to register as an Adult Nurse, with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). The course has been designed to meet the Nursing and Midwifery Council Future Nurse: Standards of Proficiency for Registered Nurses (May 2018). These standards set out the knowledge and skills you will learn as the next generation of nurses. This course aims to equip you with the clinical skills and evidence-based knowledge you need to face the challenges of modern adult nursing. You will learn how to:

- care for people with complex mental, physical, social, and behavioural needs
- care for people in various healthcare settings
- help promote health, protect health, and prevent ill health

Qualification requirements
You need: - undergraduate degree at grade 2:1 or above in a health or science-related subject* - GCSE English and Maths (grade 9 - 4 / A* - C) or Level 2 equivalents *If your undergraduate degree is not in a healthcare-related subject we would require significant healthcare experience (this is in addition to the recognition of prior learning practice hours detailed below). If English isn't your first language you also need to meet our English language requirements: - a minimum of IELTS 7.0 in speaking, reading and listening and 6.5 in writing, or - OET (Occupational English Test) at least at grade C+ in the writing section and at least a grade B in the reading, listening and speaking sections. Additional requirements - all applicants will need to show evidence of 1000hrs of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) on entry (x500hrs theory and x500hrs approximately 4 months of formal healthcare experience verified by a nursing registrant) - an RPL mapping tool has been devised to assist you with this - this formal healthcare experience must be verified by a nurse registered with the NMC and completed within the last two years - completion of a 2-week online non-credited cultural competence programme to prepare you to learn and work in the NHS.
