Course summary

Our Animation and Game Art degree allows you to pair your creativity with industry standard technology, preparing you for a career in entertainment. Combine theory with practice as you develop skills in a way that suits you through hands-on projects in our film and animation studios. Through conferences and events, you’ll have the opportunity to meet industry professionals and benefit from insider knowledge through our links with BAFTA-winning regional animation studios and mentoring by game developers. You will have access to specialist hardware such as lightboxes, industry-standard graphics tablets, film equipment and our sound recording studio. Learn how to use industry standard animation and game production software such as Maya, ZBrush, Marvellous Design, Adobe Suite and Toon Boom. You’ll have the chance to create your own films, games and music videos. In your final year, showcase your work to industry professionals at our annual Arts Degree Show and experience professional networking which may lead to work in the industry. Throughout the course, you’ll be working on industry briefs for animation and game development, whilst being supported to find your own passion. You’ll have individual tutorials which focus on project planning, and academic and career support from your Personal Academic Tutor. By the time you graduate, you’ll have evidence of industry-standard work, networked with students from our other film and media courses, and met with industry professionals.
