Course summary

The Postgraduate Diploma in Gastroenterology has been specifically designed to help physicians interested in the field of Gastroenterology to further their knowledge and improve their clinical judgement. We believe that the course answers the need for enhancing professional skills and knowledge in the field of gastroenterology, as there is increasing competition for employment in the healthcare arena, as well as increasing specialisation.

Modules

The online Gastroenterology Diploma lasts one calendar year and is a part-time distance learning course. It consists of 6 modules per year, each of 6 weeks’ duration, worth 20 credits each. The course consists of the following modules: Module 1 – Oesophagus Module 2 – Stomach Module 3 – Pancreas Module 4 – Liver Module 5 – Small bowel and nutrition Module 6 – Colon

Assessment method

There are four components of assessment to assess the learning outcomes of each module: Case based scenarios and discussion 40% Reflective portfolio 10% Group activity 20% Case based exam 30%


Entry requirements

Applicants would typically be health professionals working within a clinical setting, both UK and overseas, with a related Healthcare Science degree.
