Course summary

Our three year PhD is based within the Faculty of Engineering enabling you to choose from a wide range of research areas and work across traditional research boundaries being part of interdisciplinary teams. Our research work spans a range of applications including:

  • medicine
  • aerospace and automotive engineering
  • energy and the construction industry
  • sustainable design and development
It also includes work from the most fundamental studies up to near-commercial investigations.


Entry requirements

2.1 degree (or international equivalent) and/or a Master's at merit level or above in a relevant subject. English language requirements: IELTS 6.0 (no less than 5.5 in any element).
