Course summary
Are you an established podiatrist looking to develop your career into the flourishing field of podiatric surgery? This innovative course will give you the theoretical knowledge and expert guidance that you need. You can study the MSc part-time, to fit in with your current work commitments. The programme will appeal to podaitrists working in either the NHS or private practice who are looking to extend their scope of practice and develop a career as a podiatric surgeon. The course will give you the ideal opportunity to extend your scope of practice to include surgical management of foot and ankle pathologies. You will study a variety of modules, giving you the theoretical underpinning for future surgical training.

Your performance will be assessed by a variety of methods including course work and examination.
Qualified teacher status (QTS)
To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:

Entry requirements
Students registered on this named award will be podiatrists registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). However, the individual modules are available to healthcare professionals with an interest in the area. Candidates should have the relevant honours degree. Those with a professional diploma or unclassified degree should have at least two years’ professional experience and be able to demonstrate a portfolio of continued professional development. International: You will be required to take an IELTS test receiving an overall score of 6.5 and no individual component score below 6.0.
