It helps prepare full-time students for entry-level positions and provides career development opportunities for roles such as accountants, auditors, managers, business consultants and finance analysts. You will examine in depth the tools and practices of finance and accounting. The course will enable you to apply your knowledge in simulations, case studies, exams, essays, and research projects, developing your employability and research skills. You will have access to our Trading Floor, which provides campus and remote access to leading financial databases, statistical and other software. On this course you will challenge accounting and finance theories and practices by studying contemporary issues, including sustainability reporting and investing. Key features

- You will critically evaluate and challenge the practices of accounting and finance, including financial and management accounting, corporate governance, strategy, sustainability reporting, firm financing, investor behaviour, trading and investments
- Using the PC Labs and Trading Floor, you will apply enhanced skills in collecting and manipulating data, using statistical and other software
- On our International Trading and Investments module, we will provide you with the tools and techniques needed to turn investment ideas into trading strategies. You will be given a stock and sector to manage, as part of a student-managed international portfolio, and you will critically evaluate investment and environmental performance
Assessment method
You will be taught through a combination of lectures and guest lectures, seminars and tutorials, PC Labs and Trading Floor Labs and asynchronous support. Assessment is through assignments, essays, exams, and projects. Some assessment opportunities will have additional support via groupwork, such as simulations and case studies; and students have access to a personal tutor for mentoring and signposting for additional needs.

Entry requirements
Applicants will normally hold an undergraduate degree with a minimum pass of 2:2, or equivalent overseas qualification, preferably in a business-related subject containing some evidence of quantitative ability. If you have other professional qualifications and industry experience, we will consider your application on an individual basis.
