Course summary
The BA (Hons) Children, Learning and Development provides a programme of study to Level 6 which is relevant to those wanting to work with the Early Childhood (0-7 years) education sector. The degree requires students to be either working or volunteering in an appropriate setting for 14 hours per week during term time. Practice-based learning is combined with campus-based sessions at the UCNL A strong and balanced foundation is provided for the development of the diverse range of practitioners attracted to studying at this level helping them to develop careers working with children and young people in a variety of public service, private and voluntary settings. The programme is designed to improve personal and professional communication skills, to develop new ways of working and to challenge existing assumptions. A distinctive feature of the programmes is the extended engagement with digital literacy which is embedded throughout.
