Course summary

This is a four year programme that will allow you to qualify in two fields of nursing. Your first field will be child nursing. The children’s nursing field specialises in caring for children, young people and their families in a variety of settings, as part of an interprofessional approach to care. The work of a children’s nurse can range from caring for a sick newborn baby to caring for a teenager with complex physical or psychological needs. The course will empower you to become a flexible practitioner; clinically adept, caring and willing to accept responsibility for the care of children, young people and their families. Your second field will be one of the following: adult nursing; learning disability nursing; mental health nursing. You will be asked to indicate your second field preferences once your application has been received.
