Course summary
The Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Animal Management course will develop your knowledge and understanding in factors related to animal behaviour and welfare. The course is aimed at learners who want to further progress their careers within the animal sector. You will benefit from small groups and high levels of support whilst studying on this programme. The animal industry is a growing industry with lots of career opportunities within the sector such as working in zoos in the UK and abroad, links to conservation, supporting animal welfare such as working within a veterinary practice. This course will provide you with the skills to develop your career aspirations. Academic and practical skills will be developed through several methods including formal lectures, guest speakers and research development tasks. You will have access to our animal care unit including the Blue Cross Cattery.

Entry requirements
Qualification requirements
Successful completion of a Level 4 qualification in Animal Studies/Management is a requirement to study the Animal Management (Animal Behaviour and Welfare) HND Level 5 (Top-Up). You will also need a minimum of a grade 4 in GCSE maths, English and Science or its equivalent and the ability to demonstrate meaningful work experience. Individual cases will be considered.
