Course summary

Neuroscience seeks to understand the most complex structure in the known universe - the brain. This unique postgraduate programme is a one-year research project, allowing you to gain in-depth knowledge of your chosen research topic, develop independent research skills and your ability to work as part of a team. You will select a project drawn from a pool of world-leading experts with interests ranging from the molecular biology of synapses to behavioural studies of cognition. The programme provides a key transition from undergraduate to postgraduate study, providing an excellent foundation if you are considering applying for a PhD in neuroscience or other life science disciplines.

Entry requirements

Minimum 2:2 BSc Honours degree in neuroscience, psychology, biomedical sciences or a related subject. In addition, you should be able to demonstrate evidence of aptitude and enthusiasm for research, for example, through an undergraduate research project. Applicants with a non-traditional background may be considered provided they can demonstrate substantial equivalent and relevant experience that has prepared them to undertake their proposed course of study.
