On our History and Film Studies BA(Hons) course, you can explore how we represent and construct the story of humankind through the centuries, to the present day. With history, you'll establish connections between the events, ideas and people that built past and present worlds. A wide range of option modules puts you in control of shaping your degree to suit the areas that interest you. In the film element of the course, you’ll look a variety of cinema – from Hollywood blockbusters through to challenging avant-garde works. As well as the wide mix of skills you'll gain, you'll also have the chance to improve your writing and develop abilities in video and audio production. Assessment method

Teaching is via lectures, seminars and workshops, newsdays, work-based learning and placements, project work, dissertations, one-on-one and group supervision, and digital learning. Assessment is via video shorts, podcasts, newsroom days, audience research portfolios, essays, production pitches, data analytics, presentations, and dissertation.
