Course summary
Help solve the mysteries of the universe and experience studying in another country with BSc Physics and Astrophysics (International Study). Explore the world of astronomy and the essential concepts of physics. From entropy to observational astronomy mechanics, study with us and build problem-solving, programming, mathematical, teamwork and experimental skills. Enjoy a year at a partner university overseas for a global perspective on the subject and broaden your career opportunities. You'll develop a broad understanding of the laws that make up the natural world. Our academics are global experts in their fields and will help you step up to university-level physics. Choose from topics such as quantum mechanics, nuclear physics, chaos and dynamical systems and the life and death of stars. You’ll benefit from using state-of-the-art study spaces, computing suites and laboratories. Our research spaces include our own particle accelerators, the MC40 cyclotron for charged particles and HF-ADNeF, the most intense accelerator driven neutron source worldwide, as well as labs used for the construction of the detectors and electronics in experiments at the Large Hadron Collider, CERN. Spend your third year studying physics at an international university, immerse yourself in another culture and build language skills for working abroad. As a Birmingham Physics graduate, you'll have a broad range of options for the future.
