This accredited course is one of the longest running sport science degrees in the UK, offering opportunities to specialise and graduate with an award that best meets your career aspirations. With accredited laboratories and small class teaching, you’ll gain expert knowledge of the effects of sport and exercise on the human body and have plenty of hands-on opportunities to improve your lab skills. You’ll work on consultancy projects, solving real problems and in your final year you can choose a period of professional experience with one of our partner sports organisations. You'll also benefit from access to staff who are world leaders in sport research, such as Professor Yannis Pitsiladis, one of the scientists for the World Anti-Doping Agency, and Dr Gary Brickley, coach for Great Britain’s Paralympic cycling team. Don’t meet the entry requirements? The University of Brighton Sport BSc(Hons) with integrated foundation year provides an extra year of study at foundation level for students who do not hold the academic qualifications or experience required for entry to this course. Successful completion of the foundation year enables you to progress onto year 1 of this degree. Campus where this course is taught Our Eastbourne-based courses will move to the Falmer, Brighton campus from the academic year 2024–2025. Students starting this course in September 2023 will be based at our Falmer, Brighton campus from September 2024.

Additional fee information

Please note that the £13,842 international fee is for classroom based courses and provisional for 2023. For lab based courses a higher fee of £14,892 applies. EU students will be charged international fees unless they have settled status awarded by the UK Government's Settlement Scheme. Further tuition fees are payable for each subsequent year of study and are subject to an annual increase of no more than 5% or RPI (whichever is the greater). The annual increase for UK/EU students, who are subject to regulated fees, will increase no more than the statutory maximum fee. The tuition fee you have to pay depends on a number of factors including the kind of course you take, and whether you study full-time or part-time. If you are studying part-time you will normally be charged on a pro rata basis depending on the number of modules you take. If your course includes a sandwich year option you will pay a reduced fee during this year; £1,370 for home students and £2,120 for international students.
