Course summary

Today’s investment management professionals need an understanding of financial risk. Changes in banking regulations put increased focus on improving risk management standards. Recent advances in artificial intelligence and blockchain also create rapid growth in financial technology (FinTech) and its impact on investment management. On this highly practical course, you’ll learn about investment management, risk management and FinTech. This will help you stand out when you start your career in the investment industry or investment-related risk management positions. Entry requirements

You should have a lower second-class (2.2) undergraduate honours degree or above (including an average mark of at least 57%). Your qualification should be in a quantitative subject such as mathematics, physics or engineering. You will also be considered if you have a finance- or economics-related degree provided that it contains several modules with a high quantitative modelling content (e.g., Mathematics for Economics/Finance; Applied Statistics; Econometrics) which have been passed with high marks. You may also be considered for the course if you have other professional qualifications or experience of equivalent standing.
