This programme provides athletes with the opportunity to train, learn and perform in a professional and highly competitive environment supported by highly qualified coaches and tutors, strength and conditioning experts, sports psychologists, nutritionists, analysts and a medical team. Would you like to become part of the exciting and ever-changing world of fashion and land your dream job in the industry? Our BA in Fashion Management and Marketing will help you do just that, providing you with the latest insights from the fashion industry and retail businesses. This programme also allows students to gain a strong knowledge and expertise within other fields such as accounting, finance, marketing and operations applied to fashion management. As with all of our undergraduate programmes at Richmond, you will commence this programme with our broad-based liberal arts approach as you take courses in creative expression, scientific reasoning and foundations of sociology along with foundations of business to give you a thorough grounding in a range of subjects. In the second year, you will move on to more targeted topics for business management including financial and managerial accounting, marketing, entrepreneurship and micro and macroeconomics. From corporate finance to celebrity and fan culture, your third year will be equally diverse, taking in topics such as legal and ethical concepts in management, research methods and principles of marketing. The degree gives students awareness and the know-how to conduct relevant market/consumer research and forecast trends. It also provides students with the necessary tools to be able to compile insights into consumer and fashion buyer behaviour. Your final year will focus on topics such as advertising management, digital marketing and social media, which will prove invaluable in the workplace and enhance your employability. Potential electives in the final year include luxury brand management, fashion, and media, giving our students the opportunity to broaden their knowledge of the industry according to their personal interest. This programme ensures students have an innovative and visionary approach as marketers. The academics’ teaching methods support our mission to develop students’ creative and analytical skills, to stand out in a competitive fashion marketplace. Graduates will acquire transferable skills such as team-work and leadership – qualities that will make them progress in their career and gain access to top graduate schools worldwide. Modules
We offer 4-year Liberal Arts and Business BA degrees. Students entering with A levels or other level 3 qualifications usually gain exemptions from courses in the Richmond Core Curriculum which can mean that you should be able to complete your degree in less than four academic years. The interdisciplinary Liberal Arts approach offers not just breadth but also depth of study and encourages students to make sounds judgements and think independently. A Liberal Arts education is one which encourages you to explore a wide range of subjects and programmes. It reaches across disciplines, building connections between different academic areas such as literature, science, mathematics, writing, business and psychology. Upon entry to Richmond University all students study the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum before specialising in their chosen field.
