With our BA in Russian and Spanish, you'll experience a unique and powerful combination of linguistic and cultural expertise, connecting you to two geopolitically important regions. When you study Spanish and Russian at Birmingham, you'll gain advanced language and a deep understanding of the interconnected histories, economies, and cultures of Europe, Latin America, and Russia. This language combination positions you as a highly valuable professional in an increasingly globalized world. During your Year Abroad, you will study, work or teach at one of our partner institutions, sharpening your language proficiency and building key professional relationships for your future career. Choose from a diverse range of modules, which may include:

  • Spanish Exile Culture
  • Russia Unwrapped: Cultures, Contexts, Identities
  • Fiction in Place of a Public Sphere: The Golden Age of the Russian Novel, from Pushkin to Tolstoy
