Course summary
In choosing to study Mathematics and Education you'll cover a broad spectrum of childhood development activities that include the sociological, psychological and educational facets that influence the development of children. Additionally you'll cover the fundamental syllabus of a broad-ranging degree in Mathematics. You'll be taught by enthusiastic staff and cover a range of practical, theoretical, and professional disciplines that employers in these disciplines demand. Your time will be divided equally in the School of Education and the Department of Mathematics. Your skills and abilities will be enhanced with regular exposure to team-work, communications, interpersonal, and time and work management opportunities. As this is a joint honours degree, you will be able to apply for PGCE teacher training courses at either Primary or Secondary level. A minimum grade C or grade 4 pass in GCSE (or equivalent) English or Welsh is a requirement for entry to all our degree schemes. Business, Psychology, Mathematics, and Science degree schemes also require a minimum grade C or grade 4 pass in Mathematics and/or Science at GCSE (or equivalent).
