Course summary
A PhD in German enables you to undertake a substantial piece of supervised research that makes an original contribution to knowledge and is worthy of publication. Over the duration of the PhD, you produce an original piece of research of up to 100,000 words, in English or in German. Current theses being written in the German department include a study of the Nazi poet Baldur von Schirach.
Entry requirements
A 1st or 2.1 Honours degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent, plus the appropriate language skills.
