Want to become a professional pilot and get a head start in your career in the Aviation industry? This course will give you an Air Transport Pilot Licence and the fundamental skills and competencies to kick start your career as a commercial pilot. This course has been designed in partnership with industry experts Aviation 360 working with airlines, operators and approved flight training organisations to construct a fully integrated degree in which the programme of study aligns to the pilot training requirements and enhances training with additional university learning. This course aligns to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) requirements, enabling you to exit with a professional pilot licence and the core skills that are needed not only at the start of your career but also as you progress towards a command role or into management. The course is delivered in partnership with an approved training organisations – L3Harris Airline Academy or Tayside Aviation - ensuring that the delivery is at the forefront of industry developments and needs. The training is delivered by current airline-standard instructors and trainers, supported by academic experts in Aviation and Aerospace. You will learn your theoretical knowledge using the latest industry-standard platforms, be trained on modern training aircraft and utilise fully approved flight simulators and training aids. This programme has been developed with industry to meet the future needs of the Aviation sector. Aviation 360, an industry leading consultancy and advisory organisation, has led the development of this programme to meet and exceed industry standards. L3Harris have over 40 years heritage in pilot training, providing thousands of pilots to some of the world’s biggest airlines including British Airways, EasyJet, TAP Air Portugal and Air France. You will train at their purpose built, state-of-the-art training centres including the London Training Centre (LTC) in Crawley near Gatwick airport. Their Theoretical Knowledge and Flight Instructors have thousands of hours combined industry experience and are passionate about sharing it with the next generation of aviators. Tayside Aviation’s Dundee base is home to 20 light aircraft, classroom training facilities and engineering support services. The Dundee centre is a CAA accredited Approved Training Organisation (ATO) along with additional facility at Fife (Glenrothes) Airport. Experienced staff provide a full range of pilot courses from Private Pilot Level (LAPL, PPL) to Commercial Pilot Level (CPL, MEP, IR and MCC) and Flight Instructor Training (FIC, IRI, CRI) on a full-time or part-time basis. Both L3Harris and Tayside Aviation have extensive relationships with airlines and operators, supporting your transition to employment and ensuring you are equipped with the skills and competencies to succeed in the Aviation industry.
