Course summary

Addressing the emerging needs and global public health challenges to protect and improve the health and well-being of populations, this course is designed to develop your knowledge and skill set for public health practice. This inclusive course attracts students from many different nationalities and disciplines which will enrich your overall learning experience. Our extensive links between employers and academic staff ensures that the course content is relevant to contemporary public health practice. Using an evidence-based approach, you will gain the knowledge and skills to understand how to assess needs, plan, implement and evaluate public health and health promotion interventions/strategies. We will provide you with public health research skills, including statistics and epidemiology. We ensure that your learning experience is highly practical by incorporating public health and knowledge frameworks and work based practice into learning. You will spend time in a public health setting so you can relate theoretical concepts to practical situations within the field of public health.
