Course summary

User Experience (UX) Design is a creative dynamic discipline that encourages curiosity creatively expressed through the voice of people. This exciting course encourages you to explore the world of interaction design and user experience with devices and systems. This user experience design course will develop your skills in identifying unmet needs and defining them by incorporating them into the process of design. Our course will ingrain digital user experience design principles into our students and prepare them for a career in the industry. If you have an insatiable curiosity to speculate on the future and understand people’s experience as they interact with devices and systems - then this course is for you! Entry requirements for advanced entry (i.e. into Year 2 and beyond)

To enter this programme at the start of Year 2 you must have either: • three SQA Advanced Highers (or equivalent) to include one of the following : maths, physics, computing, statistics, economics, chemistry, engineering science, graphic design or art and design or • an HNC in Design or HNC Computing or HNC User Experience or HNC Engineering (or equivalent) with a B in the graded unit To enter this programme at the start of Year 3 you must have: an HND Digital Design & Development or HND User Experience Design (or equivalent) with BB in the graded units To enter this programme at the start of Year 4 you must have: • a Scottish bachelor’s degree in User Experience or Interaction Design (or equivalent)

Minimum Year 2 Entry Requirements SQA Advanced Higher BBC OR BB + SQA Higher BB to include one of: Maths/Computing/Physics/Engineering Science/Design/Art & Design GCE A Level BBB to include at least one of: Maths/Computing/Physics/ Engineering Science/Design/Art & Design BTEC (QCF) Level 3 Extended Diploma with DDD in a related subject for year 2 (DDM for RUK partners – any NI College) HNC – Pass HNC with B in the graded unit in a relevant subject* for year 2 entry *HNC Computing/HNC Design (Digital Design & Web Development or similar)/HNC User Experience/HNC Engineering Minimum Year 3 Entry Requirements HND – Pass HND with B in the graded unit in a relevant subject** **HND Digital Design & Development/HND User Experience/HND Visual Communication (UX) Other HNC/D qualifications may be considered, please contact [email protected] for advice.
