Course summary

Specialisms include: Church History, Wesley Studies/Wesleyan Tradition, Christian Theology, Old Testament Studies/Second Temple/Inter-Testamental Studies, New Testament Studies and Biblical Theology, Practical Theology, Missiology. Full-time and flexible part-time routes available for research degrees. The registration period of full-time study is 12 months for the MPhil and 36 months for the PhD. The registration period for part-time study is 24 months for the MPhil and 72 months for the PhD.

Assessment method

MPhil thesis is expected to be up to 40,000 words, whereas a PhD thesis would be up to 80,000 words.


Entry requirements

Candidates must normally have a Master’s degree in a relevant area with a research component. Candidates without formal research experience may be required to undertake all or part of an MA as the first stage of the research programme. Applicants whose first language is not English need to demonstrate their English proficiency. Postgraduate (Research) students need a minimum IELTS score of 7.0, or its equivalent, overall.

Additional fee information

As a private college, NTC receives no support from government sources. The College is supported by gifts and donations from Churches and from individual donors, and this allows student fees to be set at a competitive rate.
