Course summary
The programme is designed to provide a sound training in business research methods as well as a critical understanding of how organisations and their external environment are managed.
Modules
Research areas: Induction; research design and data collection; foundations of data analysis and reporting; advanced quantitative research methods; advanced qualitative research methods; organisation theory and management; dissertation proposal; dissertation; research colloquium; workshops and skill development.
Assessment method
Assessment is through an 80,000-word thesis and an oral exam.
Entry requirements
A 1st or 2nd Class Honours undergraduate degree and a Master's degree in general management or a business-related subject; and 2 personal references from academic referees confirming candidates' suitability for the programme; in addition candidates should have relevant work experience; suitable applicants are interviewed; applicants whose 1st language is not English require academic IELTS of 7.0 overall.
