Course summary

This course helps law undergraduates, legal professionals and those with related backgrounds to expand their knowledge of international law and its global impact and build expertise to tackle today’s legal challenges.

  • Study international law principles and examine how law addresses modern issues.
  • Examine specialist areas of law such as commercial arbitration, comparative constitutional law and international law.
  • Investigate and engage with international legal systems, learning to understand the rules, principles and theories of the law beyond the boundaries of individual countries.

Assessment method

This course will be assessed using a variety of methods which will could vary depending upon the module. Assessment methods include, practical or project work, coursework, tests and essays. The Coventry University Group assessment strategy ensures that our courses are fairly assessed and allows us to monitor student progression towards the achieving the intended learning outcomes. Assessments may include exams, individual assignments or group work elements.


Entry requirements

A minimum of a 2:2 undergraduate degree in Law, or a joint honours degree where Law has been studied to an appropriate level. This course is aimed primarily at law graduates, legal practitioners (solicitors and barristers) from the UK and other jurisdictions, and politics and business graduates with some knowledge of law. Each application will be considered on its merits and the final decision will be made by the course director.
