Course summary

BSc Economics and Econometrics combines the foundations of economics with statistical and mathematical models to test economic theories and analyse real-world data. You'll gain the skills to make accurate predictions about future trends and unlock valuable insights that can drive business decisions. Throughout your degree, you’ll be able to choose modules such as International Trade, Financial Economics or Labour Economics. These options can help you discover which career path is right for you. Outside of the classroom, you’ll have automatic membership to the student-led Nottingham Economics and Finance Society (NEFS) which offers networking opportunities, CV advice, and additional training through their divisions. We’re first in the Russell Group for the percentage of graduates in sustained employment or further study five years after graduation (LEO data published 2024, 2021/22 tax year). Our graduates are sought after by top employers, including EY, PwC, Deloitte, Civil Service and KPMG (Graduate Outcomes data, 2017/18-2021/22). Our course will give you the statistical and problem-solving skills needed to evaluate complex issues and prepare you for careers in investment banking, actuarial science, consulting, public policy, or further study. European Baccalaureate - 85% LIBF Diploma in Financial Studies grade A, must be combined with A-Level grades A*A, must include Mathematics.
