The world of live events is changing fast, with cutting-edge sound, broadcast, and immersive tech transforming everything from festivals and concerts to flagship sports and big brand productions. This hands-on degree gives you the technical skills and creative expertise to thrive as a live event and audio engineer, meeting the industry’s demand for skilled professionals who can deliver world-class experiences. You’ll build specialist skills through practical learning in amazing facilities like a 29-speaker Dolby Atmos cinema, HD broadcast truck, and a 10-meter-wide virtual production screen within our live event space. You’ll learn how to set up, run, and fine-tune audio, video, and lighting systems, with a particular emphasis on sound engineering for live music, mixed-media shows, and broadcast events. You’ll build solid technical skills while getting real-world experience — learning by doing. You’ll work at major UK festivals like Glastonbury, Boardmasters and Camp Bestival, building confidence, contacts, and skills that employers love. You’ll also get to experience the pressure and buzz of delivering live broadcasts and large-scale shows, so when you graduate, you’re ready to hit the ground running. Solent University can also accept the following English Language Test: Duolingo English Language Test 115 overall with a minimum of 95 in each component.
