Course summary

Are you planning a career or employment in the finance, banking or accountancy sector? Our accounting degree is designed and structured to meet your needs. The philosophy of the programme is to provide a broad-based understanding of business organisations and, at the same time, ensure you meet the rigorous requirements of the discipline and the sector’s professional bodies. This Accountancy programme aims to provide a systematic understanding and detailed knowledge of accounting and finance skills in a variety of organisational contexts. This involves financial reporting, management accounting, taxation and international financial management. It is also designed to increase your understanding of organisations, their management, the economy and the business environment and prepare you for a potential management career in accounting through acquiring a range of specific knowledge and skills, together with improved self-awareness and personal development. BA (Hons) Accountancy has a strong employability theme that is seen in the approach to delivery using live projects and consultancy. The programme includes content that meets the requirements of the professional accounting professions, thereby allowing exemptions from ACCA modules.
