Course summary
This course is the first year of our BA Music Production & Vocal Performance degree. The CertHE Music Production & Vocal Performance gives graduates a grounding in the skills and knowledge required to start out as a performer with the ability to produce your own vocals in today’s competitive music industry. Students learn music production/composition techniques using Logic or Ableton, DJ skills, alongside key singing and performance skills so you are better positioned to start your music career upon graduation. The course focuses on practical real-world learning with assessments which mimic industry relevant tasks to give you confidence as a professional to go on to a career as a singer, rapper, songwriter, lyricist, composer, vocal producer, coach, arranger and more. Based in our London campus you’ll benefit from fantastic performance, production and practice facilities enabling you to hone your craft and gain experience using industry standard kit and techniques. Our lecturers have extensive industry experience and have worked with massive stars such as Beyonce, Adele, Gwen Stefani and Kanye West. They use this knowledge to make your learning relevant and rewarding. We supplement your classes with a wide range of regular guest masterclasses from industry pros, gigs, open mic nights and more.

All applicants must be able to demonstrate English language at CEFR level B2, equivalent to grade C / 4 at GCSE. Please note this requirement also applies to mature students (21 or over) without formal qualifications who have been admitted based on their admissions test and/or prior experience. All international students requiring visa sponsorship require an IELTS Academic test. If you are an international student applying for a Student Visa and do not currently have a valid IELTS Academic test, Point Blank will be happy to provide a fee waiver of 185 GBP, to be waived from your fees upon successful registration only. Point Blank will not provide further waivers for resits and the IELTS test booking receipt must be provided as proof of test fee paid. Fee waivers are applicable to tests completed post-application date only.
