Modules

Teaching is delivered through MyAberdeen, our online Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). It holds all the materials, tools and support you’ll need in your studies. You can access your learning materials on computer, smartphone and laptop, 24 hours a day. You’ll find a range of resources at your fingertips, including: videos, live online webinars, reading materials, discussion boards with colleagues and tutors, and the online resources of our award-winning Sir Duncan Rice Library.

Assessment method

The courses that are part of this MBA feature live online webinars. In these live sessions you’ll have direct interaction with tutors, giving you a more personal online learning experience. The webinars are central to your learning, and your participation in them counts towards your final grades. Ahead of webinars, you may be asked to study some online materials, post questions to your tutor online, undertake multiple-choice quizzes or other tasks. You may also be asked to work in small groups to prepare for some of the live sessions. All your assessments for this degree will be delivered and completed online.

Entry requirements

The minimum entry requirements for this degree are an undergraduate degree at UK honours level, or a degree from a non-UK institution which we judge to be of equivalent worth. You must also have a minimum of two years’ post-degree professional experience.

To study for a postgraduate degree at the University of Aberdeen it is essential that you can speak, understand, read, and write academic English fluently. These skills will allow you to understand lectures, produce high standards of written work, and perform well in examinations. We can assess your English language proficiency through a variety of means: through your nationality, through the qualifications you gained in high school, through the degree you undertook or are undertaking at university, or through a recognised English language test. Postgraduate Higher requirements are used by the Schools of Business; Divinity, History and Philosophy; Education; Language, Literature, Music and Visual Culture; Law; and Social Sciences. The MSc in Oil and Gas Enterprise Management and the MSc in Integrated Petroleum Geoscience also make use of the Postgraduate Higher requirements. Please note certification must be within the two years prior to commencement of your degree programme, unless otherwise stated.

Additional fee information

This indicative cost is based on 180 credits of study over two years, starting in January 2026. The fees quoted above are based on you starting your studies with us in the 2025/26 academic year. Our tuition fees will rise by 3% for the 2026/27, 2027/28 and 2028/29 academic years. Our indicative cost includes a 3% fee rise each year.
