Do you want to be the next Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney or Vera Wang? Do you have a flare for design and love of fashion? If so, our Level 5 HND in Fashion is for you! Students undertake a substantial core of learning in the Higher National Certificate, and can build on this in the Higher National Diploma, with optional units linked to their specialist area of study. Studying at the hub of our East Riding College campus in Bridlington will provide you with the space to work in our fantastic studio facilities that will assist in the development of your industry work. You will be required to undertake study trips and exhibition visits that will underpin your project work, and enhance a broader range of subject knowledge for your specialism. Whether you are completely new to the industry or have studied before and want take your skillset to the next level. You will have the opportunity to develop your understanding for digital design, experimental pattern cutting and garment production. You will gain industry experience through live briefs which provide you with further insight into the fashion industry from a comprehensive perspective. Our previous students have worked with global companies such as Lee Jeans and Boohoo, and found this invaluable experience for their industry portfolios. Who is this qualification for? The BTEC Higher National qualifications in Art and Design are aimed at students wanting to continue their education through applied learning. Higher Nationals provide a wide-ranging study of the creative industries sector and are designed for students who wish to pursue or advance their career in creative industries. In addition to the knowledge, understanding and skills that underpin the study of the creative industries sector, Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in Art and Design give students experience of the breadth and depth of the sector that will prepare them for further study or training.

Assessment method

You will be assessed in a variety of ways, including written assignments, work-based assignments, work experience, practical assessment, portfolio development and formal presentations.

Additional fee information

The students are required to purchase their own kit. This consists of a pattern master, fabric and paper scissors. Students often purchase other items such as specialist drawing pens and pencils but this is not a necessity. Over the academic year, students are required to purchase calico and fabric when conducting pattern cutting and garment manufacture units of which they are made fully aware at the beginning of the course. approx cost £200 - £300
