Course summary

This course is for those who want to shape ideas, lead change and make things happen. The foundation year gives you the perfect starting point, helping you build confidence in academic, business and digital skills before progressing to degree‑level study. You’ll explore introductory concepts in entrepreneurship, management and innovation, while strengthening your communication, problem‑solving and critical thinking abilities in a supportive environment. During the foundation year, you’ll learn how entrepreneurs spot opportunities, create value and begin to develop ventures that respond to real needs in society and the economy. This year is designed to prepare you for success, giving you the study skills and confidence to move into the full programme. Once you progress, learning is practical and collaborative. You’ll work on live business challenges, develop ideas with others and receive guidance from industry professionals and mentors. You’ll also have access to the Launch Business Incubator, where you can explore and develop your own venture ideas in a supportive environment. Throughout your studies, you’ll build your ability to think critically, communicate with purpose and make responsible, evidence‑based decisions. You’ll graduate prepared to lead, innovate and build sustainable ventures or initiatives that create positive and lasting impact.

Develop your skills You’ll look ahead to the technologies that will affect the work of business professionals in the future and gain essential digitals skills that will help you go further in the industry, such as: / Body swap technology / iDea Bronze Award / Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and 365 All our undergraduate business courses are available with: • Placement Year - on the placement year option, you will not pay fees to the University and will earn a wage for the work that you do. • Study Abroad – study with one of our partner Universities for a semester or a year. • Foundation Year – start with the fundamental areas of business and the key skill you need to study at University level. We use different assessment techniques in different modules and try to ensure all assessments reflect the types of work you will do after graduating. This may include portfolio work, presentations, coursework and written assignments.
