On this Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, you will develop both as a person and a professional. You will learn to apply your consultancy expertise as you translate problems into innovative solutions. This course aims to take you from the classroom through to securing boardroom impact in an end-to-end process of learning consultancy and scale value. You will leave with a completed portfolio of high-impact projects. The MBA degree has been designed to give you the leadership skills needed to design and implement innovation and change at the strategic level of major corporations, start-ups or SMEs. It is project based and is founded on a broad base of management and business thinking that is both strategic and interdisciplinary. Entry requirements

Passion, imagination and a track record of following through on commitments characterise the typical student for this course. Candidates should also normally have the following: • First degree (2.1 or above) • 2-3 (or more) years of professional work experience A two-phase selection process will review applications on a case by case basis. Candidates without a first degree at 2:1 classification but with more substantial experience would also be considered on a case by case basis. Please complete the UWL Application Form, which will form the basis for shortlisting. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a two-phase selection process. The two-phase selection process looks at shortlisted candidates’ academic attainment in the context of their educational, familial, and personal background and also their genuine appetite for learning, problem-solving, and interest in consultancy skills acquisition. Phase one: We want to understand student potential in terms of both academic starting points and current aspirations. We will invite all shortlisted applicants to an MBA Selection Day. That day will include an interview and other activities exploring student attributes and motives for joining the course, diversity in intake and student commitment to project-based learning, team working and problem-solving. Phase two: Those who are successful at Phase one will then be invited to write an additional 1,000-word commitment statement addressing the following 4 aspects: 1. Reasons for applying for the MBA CIC; 2. How the MBA CIC may benefit them and help to realise their goals; 3. How the MBA CIC will advance their career aspirations longer term and how they will maximise their engagement and success on the course; 4. Special interest areas - could be research or current role related. The purpose and focus of Phase two or the commitment statement is to assess applicants’ thought process, particularly around logical and creative thinking, and vision and drive to challenge status quo; aspiration; and commitment to the course and to leading change and innovation with an impact. The aim of the overall selection process is to have a robust, two-phase selection process with a clear, evidence-based criteria that advances our strong commitment to social mobility and diversity, identifying students with real potential to benefit from this course.
