Course summary
This course equips participants with the knowledge, skills, behaviours, and values necessary to promote innovative practice in learning design, teaching and assessment/evaluation in their specialist discipline in higher education. The programme of study will enhance the career development and skills of the next generation of academic professionals by promoting disciplinary, pedagogical and technological skills appropriate to teaching in higher education. This innovative programme aligns with the requirements of the Academic Professional (Teaching Specialist Role) standard as detailed by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education. Participants in this Apprenticeship programme must be supported by their employer who will be actively engaged in their on the job development.
Entry requirements
Applicants are normally expected to hold a 2.1 degree or higher from a UK university or an equivalent from an overseas university in a relevant subject. Applicants are expected to have English and Maths at level 2 or equivalent. There is provision to accept non-standard applicants who do not satisfy the standard academic criteria, but such applicants must produce evidence of relevant and equivalent experience and their suitability for the course.
