It encompasses essential aspects of business and management, while also giving you the opportunity to acquire competence in a modern language. In the first year, you will explore various languages through taster sessions, allowing you to experience Mandarin, French, Italian, German, and Spanish before selecting one language as your focus. In the second year, you will follow Beginners’ language modules, while in the final year, you'll advance to the intermediate level. As your studies progress you will also learn how to use your foreign language in a professional environment. As part of this programme, you will spend a year abroad between your second and final year, broadening your skills and experience. Modules
Your first year of study is made up of 7 compulsory modules covering key elements of Business Management. Compulsory modules are studied by all students on the programme, meaning you are automatically enrolled. Examples of compulsory modules include: • Marketing • Human Resource Management • Operations Management To complete your first years teaching and learning, students will undertake a taster module, experiencing the following languages: Mandarin, French, Italian, German, and Spanish. Then in your second and third years of your study, you will select one of the above languages as your focus. Your second and forth years will also comprise of a mixture of compulsory and optional modules. The split between compulsory and optional choice will depend on the Business specialism you have chosen. Examples of 2nd and 4th year optional modules include: • Project Management • Application Development • Lean Operations • Digital Marketing • Sustainable Tourism Your final year will include a large compulsory project for all Business Management students, including both group and individual assessment, further preparing you for the world of work.
