The MSc Project Management course allows students to gain a global perspective in contemporary project management. It empowers students to think critically, navigate group working, strategise and tackle challenges by using innovative problem-solving skills. This includes topics such as the project life-cycle, governance, procurement, risk management, project evaluation, HR management, leadership, managing stakeholders, communication strategies and tools, contract negotiation and management, financial control and budgets, data analytics and quality assurance. The teaching team on this course are committed to providing students with an accessible teaching, learning and assessment experience. Some modules offer opportunities to personalise your learning experience, including the flexibility to select assessment tasks that align with your preferences and goals. Applied learning On the MSc Project Management course you will have the opportunity to network with professionals in the industry through guest lectures from visiting academics, researchers, and other professionals, together with case studies and field visits. This will help you to further enhance your knowledge and understanding of the industry and to gain valuable experience that will be beneficial to your career.  Students will enhance their employability skills through the curriculum. This includes developing an understanding of the skills needed to be successful in the field of project management. Students will self-reflect and develop skills that will underpin their future professional development. Business skills (e.g. interpersonal, intercultural capabilities, team working, presentation) will complement academic skills (data acquisition/analysis and academic writing and research). Case studies: Case studies are a way for students to learn about real-world problems and how they were solved. Students can develop areas to focus on in their Dissertation or Consultancy or Applied Project elective, which can be linked to their career aspirations.

Entry requirements

Normally an undergraduate degree at 2:2 or above, in a related field. This course is not open to international students who require a Tier 4 (General) student visa to study in the UK. If you are an international applicant but do not require a Tier 4 (General) student visa, email our Admissions Team to find out whether you’re eligible to apply.
