Master how content is commissioned, designed, produced, marketed and delivered across different media including books, magazines, tablets, e-readers and social media environments. Throughout the course, there is a variety of teaching and learning environments including lectures, group work on practical publishing projects, simulations, hackdays, seminars and individual research projects. You will be involved in a co-creation project working on our annual Publishing Innovation Conference which is an ideal opportunity to network. The London College of Communication experience is all about learning by doing. Our students get their hands dirty and develop their skills through the exploration of our facilities and technical spaces. Students work on live briefs and commissions, with everything from independent start-ups and charities in Southwark, through to major global companies, including Penguin, the National Trust and Royal Mail, to name a few.

Modules

Modules include: (20 credits) publishing culture in the digital context; content creation and development; content design, production and delivery; collaborative unit; future applications for digital content; publishing research; (60 credits) major project.

Assessment method

Assessment is based on research papers, essays, reports, presentations, commentaries/portfolio, proposals, creating artefacts/portfolio, digital diaries and a dissertation.


Entry requirements

An Honours degree or equivalent professional qualifications with a minimum of 3 years relevant professional experience. Applicants will need to submit a personal statement describing why they want to study the course. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate: critical knowledge of and enthusiasm for publishing; a well-articulated rationale for applying for the course. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 7.0 or equivalent.
