Key Units Year 1: Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Leadership and Management Start your journey with a Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Leadership and Management. By the end of Level 4, students will have a solid understanding of the fundamental concepts of leadership and management. This foundational year will cover essential topics such as: Principles of ManagementLeadership and Organisational BehaviourMarketing EssentialsFinancial Management What topics does the qualification cover? Contribute to the Development of a Strategic Plan Demonstrate your contributions to strategic planning within your organisation, ensuring they align with strategic objectives and resource constraints.Analyse and evaluate strategic planning models, analytical techniques, business strategy approaches, factors affecting strategic plans, scanning tools for strategy development, and the relationship between strategic intentions, choice, and formulation. Design Business Processes Complete a SWOT and PESTEL analysis of current processes, evaluate improvements and constraints, and develop systems for capturing information.Evaluate workflow patterns, business process modelling tools, and factors impacting business process efficiency and effectiveness. Manage Strategic Change Using work-based examples, describe the change management model used, analyse stakeholder mapping techniques, develop a stakeholder engagement plan, assess reasons for change, evaluate internal and external influences, and identify implications on knowledge management systems and operational plans. Provide Leadership and Management Demonstrate effective leadership and management through adapting plans, securing stakeholder commitment, making planning and resourcing decisions, and using delegation techniques.Analyse and evaluate leadership and management theories, the influence of organisational culture/structure, theories of motivation, and the role of stakeholder engagement. Entry Requirements You should possess good numeracy and literacy skills before starting the qualification.
